1992 called....

Let's rewind for a second to Fall 2009. Jeremy Scott, not my cup of tea, but always fun to look at, designed a collection that I just came across and had to put on blast. When I say "1992 called"..I'm not joking. Mickey Mouse, Dice, Buttons, Neons....someone did their homework. I think most of all, this collection reminds me of that fashion show, at the end of the movie Don't Tell Mom, The Babysitter's Dead. (if you don't know what I'm talking about...follow the eye candy)

BONUS:

Gareth Pugh

This kid is serious crazy times! Gareth Pugh is Viktor+Rolf meets Gaultier, with a dreary color palette, and a futuristic Matrix twist. It's incredible to see how he's developed as a designer from his first collection back in F/W 06'. He dove in with bold shapes and sharp lines and most recently widened his scope with the use of chiffons and unstructured silhouettes. Here's a taste:

Ohne Titel.

...I smell Helmut!, and rightly so. Meet Alexa Adams and Flora Gill, the designers behind Ohne Titel. (fun fact: the name is German for No Title) I've been following them since Spring 08' and it just keeps getting better. It wasn't until recently that I discovered Adam's resume included Helmut Lang....and now it all makes sense. (Sidenote: HL is my #1) Check out their S/S 10' collection below--->
You can see the HL elements in this portion of the collection, with the twists and drapes.

Here's where it gets interesting. It's almost like Joan Miro took over. Jane Says....cool!

This Just In...

Kate Moss's Collection for TopShop Launches today (click). Anyone who knows me, knows how I feel about Actresses, Models, and Singers designing their own collection. I use the term designing loosely. Lindsey Lohan's shit show at Ungaro is probably the best exhibit. I love TopShop, but I can live without Kate's stuff. However, if I was forced to make a purchase, it would be the items below.

...suede shorts are one of my favorite contradictions.
...single pleat, high waisted shorts. Yes!

...jumpsuits are my new passion. Jane Says...throw a denim dress shirt over this, and roll the sleeves (build from there).

Hello Holly!

Holly Fulton. I don't exactly agree with her take on the direction of Spring/Summer 2010, but anyone who can incorporate Art Deco architecture into their collection so well, deserves a shout out. Actually the inspiration behind this season wasn't Art Deco so much as it was pieces from Eduardo Paolozzi's works of art ( click ).

Setting aside the clothes, here's a close up at the accessories. Jane Says....wear this!

A is for Awesome and B is for......

Basso & Brooke - Spring 2010 Collection. I love what's happening to prints right now. I came across this as a source of inspiration for our own collection at work. The graphics on this whole collection make me think of liquified fimo beads. Remember when they were all the rage during the 90's grunge phase. (NOTE: if you're currently wearing Fimo beads...quit that shit immediately). Read up about these guys: ( click )
